Our client is a leading company in agricultural consumer goods.
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing and purchasing equipment, parts and supplies for maintenance and manufacturing operations. He will negotiate pricing and evaluate vendor performance, insures that sufficient inventory levels to guarantee the ability of maintenance to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the facility.
Key Responsibilities :
• Administer and adhere to all Company purchasing practices, policies and procedures.
• Purchase products within the limits of quality, quantity, and established performance specifications. This includes but is not limited to equipment, parts and supplies for maintenance and manufacturing operations.
• Evaluate supplier’s ability to meet our requirements base upon prices, quality, and past performance including prompt delivery.
• Review and process claims against suppliers for unsatisfactory materials, products and equipment.
• Negotiate purchasing supplier agreements.
• Maintains inventory levels at the lowest dollar levels commensurate with production scheduling demands, plant storage facilities, and costs of deliveries.
• Resolves any conflicts with vendors regarding pricing, specifications, quality standards, or deliveries, including blocked invoices.
• Monitors in stock inventory, assists in physical counts, and works with the accounting department to reconcile variances in actual versus SAP inventories.
• Maintain vendor/supplier relations.
Job Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineer or related field is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years experience in purchasing management within an industrial setting.
• Experience with the negotiating process and ensuring the on-time arrival of purchased goods.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, SAP preferred.
